Description
CBCALBN SUN – 3:1 pilot ratio, standard capacity counterbalance valve
SUN counterbalance valves, model CBCALBN (cartridge style), belong to the group of normally closed pressure valves.
Ideal for applications where it is necessary to balance or counterbalance a load.
In a hydraulic circuit, SUN counterbalance valves, model CBCALBN, have various functions. One of them would be to stabilize an overrunning load (where the cylinder area ratio is greater than the area ratio of a pilot-to-open check valve, for example) or even be applied in the control of hydraulic motors, using them as a brake or for speed control. The uses do not end there; SUN valves can be applied in any situation where the equipment requires fine control and extremely high precision.
SUN counterbalance valves, model CBCALHN, feature an integrated check valve and a pressure relief valve. The check valve allows free flow in the reverse direction (flow from 2 to 1). In their effective working position (flow from 1 to 2), the fluid passes through the pressure relief valve, which has its pressure setting adjusted by a spring, and with the aid of the pilot line (port 3), this pressure is reduced proportionally to the valve’s pilot ratio.
